How Long Printed Photos Last
How long printed photos last, and how to store a hardcover album so it ages gracefully.
Modern photo books last for decades when you treat them kindly. Heat, humidity, and direct sun are the usual enemies. Not turning the pages.
- Store upright or flat in a dry room
- Avoid attic heat and damp basements
- Keep out of harsh window sun for long stretches
- Clean hands before browsing (or enjoy the patina. It’s a life object)
A Glimp is meant to be opened. Scanning pages for video doesn’t replace the print. It gives you another reason to take the book off the shelf.
